Family Treatment Program
Welcome To The Family Treatment Program At Arms Acres
Individual family group sessions (offered by Zoom). (FULL DAY Program currently suspended due to COVID protocols.
Arms Acres offers a FULL DAY Family Treatment Program. Our Program is designed to help family members and loved ones gain an understanding of the disease of drug and alcohol addiction. Additionally, Arms Acres Family Treatment Program helps people understand addictions’ effect on all who care about the patient and ways for those loved ones to begin to cope with it.
Arms Acres recognizes that substance use disorders is a disease that not only impacts the individual physically, mentally, and spiritually but also family members and other loved ones as well as the family structure. We also recognize that when the family receives treatment and support, the addict’s potential for recovery is enhanced.
During the Family Treatment Program participants explore the impact of the disease, difficulties of the early recovery process and learn ways to improve communication patterns among other topics.
Since the disease of addiction affects immediate and extended family members; all are encouraged to attend the program. This program is also appropriate and helpful for children ages 7 years and older. We know that children are significantly impacted by the disease as well. Our goal is to provide an opportunity to start the healing process.
Addiction can contribute to stress for all family members. Each is affected differently. Families and children are resilient with knowledge and support. EVERYONE DESERVES RECOVERY!

Gratitude
Below is a letter from the family member of one of our participants:
I am writing to thank Arms Acres for providing a member of my family with the
tools they needed to maintain a life of sobriety. In addition to the tools passed along to my relative, I’d also like to express my appreciation for the life skills and understanding that I acquired through my participation in the family portion of the program. Life is hard enough without the shadow of addiction and the legacy of behaviors and emotions which accompany the disease.
I was eleven years old when my family took part in the program and I still
remember so much of it and cherish the many memories and experiences as they
were truly building blocks for my own emotional awareness and development. I continue to learn about myself and others each and every day and as those realizations come I can draw a direct line back to the lessons learned at Arms Acres twenty years ago. It’s amazing and life-changing work that the staff engages in each and every day and, though not all those who pass through find absolute success in the days, months, and years after treatment, I can vouch for one person who has.
My mother is now 20 years sober.
Yours in Serenity and Sobriety,
Andrew
